JGAP includes approximately 130 control points, while ASIAGAP contains around 170.

Characteristics of JGAP
- JGAP has a 10-year operational history and incorporates the practices required as standard GAP for Japan.
- In addition to fruit and vegetables, grains and tea, JGAP also stipulates livestock and livestock products, incorporating practices that account for animal health and animal welfare targeting dairy cows, beef cattles, pigs, layers, broilers, raw milk and chicken eggs.
Characteristics of ASIAGAP
- Achieves food safety-related risk management according to Codex-HACCP
- Addresses food defense and food fraud
- Addresses allergen labeling and the cross-contamination of allergenic substances
- Hygiene management when storing water
- Unannounced audit as system for selecting farms (general principle)

- Cooperate with related organizations in Japan and other countries as a GAP platform, to carry out activities which are beneficial for all institutions.
JGF Certified Training
The Japan GAP Foundation offers a wide-ranging training menu as skill development programs for auditors, instructors and farms, and has established a system catering to a wide range of needs.
There are a total of 14,746 trained instructors in Japan (as of March 31, 2020).
