Japan GAP Foundation Gains GFSI Recognition for ASIAGAP Programme

The most updated version of ASIAGAP has recognised as a general regulation that meets GFSI Benchmarking Requirements in January, 2022, for the second time since 2018.

The recognised certification programme have recently published as ASIAGAP, Ver. 2.3, Revised Version (1); the recognition encompasses the control points and compliance criteria for Fruit and Vegetables, Grains, and Tea.

ASIAGAP is the only GAP certification programme in Asia recognised by GFSI.  With this GFSI endorsement, ASIAGAP continuously demonstrates that its good agricultural products are produced, according to international regulations of Good Agricultural Practice (GAP).

About GFSI

The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) is an international organisation of private sector operators, mainly food manufacturers and retailers, whose aim is to improve food safety and optimise audit costs.

It operates the GFSI Benchmarking Requirements, a programme to ensure equivalence between the wide variety of food safety certification programmes in the world.

On this basis, the only certification programmes that have been certified and endorsed by GFSI including GAP or GAPs are ASIAGAP, CANADA GAP, Freshcare, GLOBALG.A.P., Primus GFS, and SQF.
